ICT stands for Information 

Communications Technology. 

There isn't any universally 
excepted definition of becaus the
applications and technology 
involved constantly keeps

changing almost on a daily basis. 
The changes happen  fast

which makes it difficult to 
keep up with them. ITC deals with 

digital data and the ways of 
storing, retrieval, transmission. 

More importantly ITC deals with 
the ways these concepts work 

when put together. The C in ICT 
stands for Communication of data 

over some distance by electronic means.
This is achieved by the use

of networks connecting different hardware
to send and receive data like, 

personal computers; digital television etc. 
networks are further divided

into (LAN) local area networks usually
linked within an office building

and (WAN) Wide area network, a very
common example of the WAN

is the internet which is connected

over a vast distance.
